You Can Have the Kung-Fu Fighters but Take Down That Damned "Merry Christmas" sign!!

It seems that during the 30th annual Parade of Lights in Denver the phrase Merry Christmas is considered offensive. A religious orginazation which had planned to enter a float in the parade had the audacity to plan on flying a banner that had that particular phrase featured prominantly. But officials notified the group that "Merry Christmas" had no place in their Winter holiday celebration which takes place in December.

Quoting the president of the orginizing orginization:
Our policy, which we have applied consistently for years, is to not include religious or political messages in the parade--in the interest of not excluding any group."

If that makes sense, let me know. I take it that in order to be inclusive he has to ban certain people? He won't include religious groups so they won't be exclusionary?

However the event will include the "Two Spirit Society" float, which honors homosexual American Indians as, quote, "Holy People". Also featured in the parade will be traditional holiday icons like Kung Fu artisans, belly dancers and, of course, Santa Claus. Only he will have to say, "Ho-Ho-Ho-, Merry Festivus!", or such.
